🎀 The Ultimate Teen Girl Gift Guide (Mom-Approved)

Trendy, aesthetic, and guaranteed to be a hit this Christmas.

Teen girls can be so hard to shop for — but the good news is they’re very trend-driven, which makes it easy once you know what’s in. These are the most-wanted gifts of the season, curated from TikTok trends, viral favorites, and top-rated picks.

Beauty & Self-Care Favorites

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (Holiday Edition)

A cult-favorite with the cutest seasonal scents. Teens absolutely love this one.

Sol de Janeiro Body Mist

The Brazilian Crush scents are everywhere on TikTok — especially 68 and 40.

• Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Drops

The product teens call “liquid sunshine.” Perfect mixed with moisturizer. (Or find a DUPE here for a fraction of the cost)

Heatless Curling Ribbon Set
They wake up with curls and aesthetic TikTok energy. There are SO many types of heatless curl tools on the market right now. But, if you're confused, Kitsch is always a good bet. The two most popular options are the one long rod or the multi pack of smaller ones. (My personal preference is for the smaller ones.)

 Touchland Hand Sanitizer Gift Set

Smells so good, looks even better. A must-have backpack accessory.

Fashion They’re Obsessed With

Ugg K Cassic Ultra Mini Platform Boots
Comfy, cute, and the top teen shoe this year.

'

Lululemon Belt Bag

The teen equivalent of a mom-friendly crossbody — it goes with everything.

Gold Hoop Earrings

Minimal, timeless, and super on-trend.

• Initial Necklace (simple gold)

Personalized without being childish.

• Cozy Skims-Style Pajama Set
Soft, cute, and perfect for sleepovers or lazy Sundays.

Tech + Room Must-Haves

LED Vanity Mirror

A bright, glowy mirror perfect for makeup or desk space.

Instax or Liene Mini Photo Printer

Let them decorate their room with photos instantly.

JBL Bluetooth Speaker

Good sound + cute colors = an easy win.

LED Strip Lights
Still very much a teen room staple.

Wireless Keyboard + Mouse Set (aesthetic colors)

Perfect for school, gaming, or decorating their desk setup.

Everything Else They’ll Love

Stanley Quencher 2.0 (New Colors)
The #1 water bottle on every teen’s wish list.

Glossier You Perfume

Light, fresh, and super popular with high school girls.

Phone Case Crossbody Lanyard

Keeps their phone hands-free and safe — stylish, too.

Pura Vida Bracelets

Affordable, stackable, and easy to collect.

Teen girls love anything that feels aesthetic, viral, or functional-but-still-cute. If it’s something they see on TikTok or something that makes their room prettier, it’s a guaranteed hit. This list covers every major trend for Christmas 2024–2025 — so you truly can’t go wrong.

Feeling Good in Your Pregnant Body

Curious about items from this look. Head HERE.

It's no secret that being pregnant can make you feel uncomfortable in your body. And I'm not just talking about the incontinence or hemorrhoids. (Yes, I said it.)  No matter what your normal pant size is, it can be absolutely depressing to watch your body morph into something you don't recognize. Believe me, it's a sensation I'm well familiar with. I typically gain 60 pounds in my pregnancies. Let that soak in for a second. Sixty. Pounds. But after going through it a few times I finally find myself with a better outlook on pregnancy and my body. So, I thought I would share a few "Feel Good About Yourself" tips just in case you needed a little pick me up today.

GET YOUR MIND RIGHT
Before I start sharing tips on clothes or makeup let's address what the base problem is. Your state of mind. When you look at yourself in the mirror or a photograph, you don't recognize the woman looking back at you. But that's ok! That woman in the mirror, is creating life where there was none. She's a badass. Even if she pees a little when she laughs. So, get to know her and love her.

Think about this: Your current weight and appearance. If you saw any other woman that looked like this out in the real world, would you judge her for her outward appearance. (For the sake of argument and humanity let's all say "No".) Of course you wouldn't. So why are you judging yourself so harshly? Your new look is different. But, it is not less than. It is just as beautiful and wonderful as it's always been.

DRESS FOR YOUR NEW BODY

Learning to dress for your body type is a valuable and tough skill to master whether you are pregnant or not. It took me 20 + years to realize that my 40 inch hips and flat chest were not going to pull off the same clothes that my athletic bodied besties could. It was a tough realization that took a lot of unfortunate fashion choices to embrace.

So what's the trick? Identify the parts of your body that you love and the parts that you wish you could trade with a Victoria's Secret model. Show off assets and hide the rest with loose fitting and/or dark fabrics.

I love my bump and the fact that I now have a semblance of a chest. But, I could do without the extra width and jiggle in my hips and legs. So, I wear tight clothes with a long line cardigan or coat to camouflage my hips. Voila.

FIND SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL SEXY

Hair, Nails, Shoes, Jewelry... whatever it is. If there is something that never fails to make you feel put together and fancy, then make an effort to fit that into your day whenever you can. For me it's makeup. My hair will be in a pile on top of my head and I may be wearing leggings and a sweater most days, but I love making time for makeup. The application process relaxes me and having it on always makes me feel a little more like myself.

(I understand that time and money are legitimate factors when it comes to some of these suggestions, but if you can comfortably manage it, then go for it!)

KEEP IT MOVING

With Hudson and Holland, I literally had no energy whatsoever. And by the end of both pregnancies I felt like a beached whale. But, with this pregnancy, I've continued to work and also chase after two young kids. My days include a lot of getting up and down off the ground and lifting small humans, so I'm still getting at least some minimal exercise. And I honestly feel a million times more energetic because of it. The really great part is that energy is also super helpful for accomplishing my first three tips!

You don't have to go to a gym, but continue to make an effort to get a walk in or play hard with the kids rather than phoning it in. (Window shopping at the mall is also fun exercise when the weather is bad.)

Hopefully some of these tips were helpful! Let me know if you have any other tips on feeling good during pregnancy!

P.S. If you have the scoop on any good black friday deals for baby/pregnancy stuff, let me know! I've been scoping out the Bed Bath and Beyond sale for nursery and home items and already found some great deals on cribs and gliders.

Happy Wednesday Y'all!! 😘

3 Summer Makeup Tips You Should Know | Nordstrom Giveaway!

It's hot as Hades out there y'all & I think I sweat off about ten pounds the day these pics were taken (wishful thinking). In light of the sweltering temps I thought I'd bring you two fun treats today. I'm sharing the beauty products and tips I've been using most to stay looking fresh and not like a sweaty mess. AND I'm giving away a huge Nordstrom Prize just in time for you to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Check it all out below the pics!

Grab this super cute Kimono HERE for only $11!

::HOW TO NOT LOOK LIKE A SWEATY MESS::

-Avoid The Cake-
That's not a diet tip. But unless you're going to an all night event there's no need to pound on layers of makeup. Plus, sweat dripping down over a full face of cake is never a flattering look.

Instead, opt for a light weight foundation like the L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation or Clinique's Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup.

-Powder Is Your Friend-
If you want your liquid products to stay put, it's a general rule that you'll need to set them with some powder. This doesn't mean you need to do a full bake. But a light dusting of Coty Airspun Face Powder will keep your foundation in place without breaking the bank.

Bonus Tip: If you find that your mascara often transfers to your under eye area on a hot day, then setting that area of skin with powder can make a huge difference. It should prevent the oils from your skin from causing your mascara to run. Here's a quick video tut on how to do it.

-Set It And Forget It-
I've found that once you get your base perfected most blushes and bronzers will stay put as long as you set it all with the right setting spray! Urban Decay's All Nighter is the industry standard and will never let you down. But it isn't cheap. I've said many times that I like to use the Wet N' Wild Photo Focus Natural Finish Setting Spray as my daily spray. It's less than $5 and gets the job done.

Bonus Tip: Once you're out and about it doesn't hurt to carry a small translucent powder compact with you (I like the Rimmel Stay Matte or Charlotte Tillbury's Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder). And blotting papers are a good addition to every summer handbag.

But the best tip I can give you is; NEVER wipe the sweat from your brow or wherever your glands may be overachieving. ALWAYS blot. Grab a tissue if necessary and use blotting motions to remove excess oils. Then, you can even spritz another wash of setting spray over your face to feel a bit refreshed.

Peach Everything for Summer Style

::This post is sponsored by Perrier® Carbonated Mineral Water but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.::

From scented makeup pallets to coral toned fringe, Peach is no doubt the color, scent and taste of the Summer. And I am definitely on board with that. I've been obsessed with all things peach since I discovered Fuzzy Navel Snoballs as a kid! (My Louisiana Girls will know what I'm talking about!)

Lately my uniform has been white denim with pops of peach and my makeup has been all coral all the time! And when I've been feeling extra colorful I've been adding peach eyeliner on my lower lash line and winging it out. I think it's perfect for a fun and artsy summer look.

I'm currently putting together a list/mood board of all of my favorite Summer peach items which you will be able to find on the Shop page 👆 of my blog! And one of my newer favorites is Perrier’s new Peach flavored carbonated mineral water! With the awesome flavor and sparkling bubbles,  it's a perfect afternoon refresher without any calories or Sweeteners! Head HERE to order yours!

HOLLAND'S HEADBAND | SHOES
Happy Monday! I'm ready to get back to work and get one day closer to Easter! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Ours was so full of fun activities and such a welcomed change from the busy schedule Jamy has had the last few weeks. We've already knocked two Easter egg hunts out of the way and today we had our annual Palm Sunday Celebration at church (You can see some of it on my Insta Stories!) But, before I go, I wanted to stop in for two reasons. A) To share this neutral dream of an outfit with you and B) to let you in on a couple things I've been loving lately!

Tan "No-Makeup" Makeup LooksWith spring finally here, I'm loving fresh faced and easy makeup looks. Lately my go to makeup products have been Too Faced's Born This Way Foundation, NYX Contour Stick and this rosy pink Wet n Wild highlight!

Professional Spray Tans at HomeI used to have a spray tan addiction... and I finally had to cut the chord due to the fact that I'd rather be pale and financially stable than tan and broke. Since then I've found a lot of good at home tanning options. But, I wanted something that would give me a little more bang for my buck. And since I am insane I decided to invest in an at home Spray Tan Machine. It is pricey. BUT, it works so well and if you regularly get professional tans then this will pay for itself in about two months!

Universal Thread @ Target
Some of my favorite clothing and shoes lately have been from Target's new in house brand, Universal Thread. They give major Madewell Vibes! The shoes I'm wearing in these pics are UT.

Grocery Delivery
The world heard my cries and finally brought a super convenient grocery delivery option to Baton Rouge. Actually more than one service. But, I've been using Shipt. Because, I can order anything I want from Target and have it at my front door in two hours, with no delivery charge.
I tell myself that the money I'm saving on impulse buys far outweighs what I've invested in the Shipt membership.
If you want to try it, you can get $10 off with this link and I'll get $10 too!

Etsy for Handmade Kids Clothes
When Hudson was younger and Holland was a baby, I put way more effort into their clothes. I loved buying handmade and unique items whenever I could. But, eventually convenience and Cat & Jack got the best of me. Lately, though, I've been rediscovering my love for shopping handmade. Some of my current favorite shops are Crafted Bows and Thread, Shop The Back Lot and Tiny Human Clothing Co.

AND I'm off! Let me know what you have been loving lately. Specifically if you have any good book recommendations I would love that right now! Even more specifically if you have any good Christian Book recs, that would be awesome too! Happy Monday, Loves!

XOXO

My Favorite Hairstyle

Ever since College, I have longed for wavy, beachy hair. (Hence my recent foray into the blonde world.) And over the last decade I've come up with various methods of achieving that style. There was that time when I would SOAK my hair in hair spray before curling it. Or when I would sleep with it tied into a million little buns (very uncomfortable). And I've tried every kind of curling tool possible, marcel irons, diffusers, curling wands... you name it.

But over the last year or two, I've realized that the look I've been killing myself for, was actually staring back at me in the mirror the morning after I curled my hair. The 'Second Day Curl' is me in a hairstyle.

My  current way to get the look is by curling my hair with a strong hairspray and then brushing through the curls after giving them just a few minutes to cool down. If I find that I need to add a little more dimension back into the look, then I will use a texturizing agent and scrunch up the ends a bit.

[I use to use my husband's SUPER stiff hairspray when doing this and it was absolutely gorgeous until I got to the 'brushing' step. Breaking up that spray with a brush would leave a white residue all over my hair that looked like dandruff. Insert disgusted emoji here.]

My hair is very thin... but still very heavy because there is SO much of it. And I've found this has always made it difficult for my hair to hold a curl.

With that said, my ideal hairspray is something powerful enough for the weight of my hair but light enough not to weigh down my thin strands. So when I was asked to try out TRESemme's new compressed micro missed hair sprays I was obviously intrigued.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE PRODUCTS:

-They use superfine micro-mist particles that penetrate through the top layer of hair, providing deeper coverage.

-The new thinner cans result in a more targeted, efficient spray that comes out softer for a light and flexible hold.

-The mist uses 50% less gas per spray than other 11-ounce cans and the smaller cans contribute to a  reduction in CO2. So you can feel better about your impact on the environment.

MY CURRENT "SECOND DAY CURL" STYLE ROUTINE:

-Thoroughly wash and dry hair with a small amount of volumizing mousse.
-Seperate hair into large sections and curl in 2 inch segments.
-Before moving from one of the larger sections to the next, lightly mist that section with TRESemme's Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Extend
-When the hair is completely curled, comb through with your fingers or a wide toothed comb.
- Spray an all over light mist of TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Texture
- Gently scrunch your curls in an upward motion for a beachier vibe.

EXTRA TIPS:

-After curling each strand, hold the hair in the curled position for a second while it cools down. This will help to set the curl better
-Always curl the sections near your face back and away from you, to open up your face.
-Alternate the Curling direction through the rest of your hair to give a more tousled look.

The New Micro Mist line also has a BOOST and a SMOOTH option for a total of four different styling needs. And you can find them all at your Local Wal Mart in the hair care aisle!

Let me know if you try them.

Also, I would love to know what is your Favorite hairstyle?! Tell me in the comments below! And I'll see you next week!

XOXO
